Ferndown is a private heathland course laid out among pines and heather on a sandy ridge in east Dorset.

The club also runs the 9-hole Alliss Course, formerly the Presidents Course, renamed in 2015 after the Alliss family.

Hosted the Women's British Open in 1989, won by Jane Geddes, along with many amateur and professional events.

The layout is defined by well-positioned dog-leg holes and steep-lipped bunkers that reward accurate tee shot placement over length.
