Joining
Who can join?
Playing members of golf clubs in the UK, aged 18 or over. Any club counts, from a nine-hole parkland to a grand old links. We verify every application against the WHS by hand before admitting anyone.
I play off an iGolf handicap. Can I join?
Not yet, and it's nothing personal. The network runs on hosting, and hosting needs a home club. The day you join one, your application is welcome.
What does it cost?
Nothing while the network grows. In time membership will cost less than the average saving on a single green fee. Members hear first when that changes.
Why do you need my WHS number?
It's how we confirm you're a playing member of the club you name. It ties to your home club, and it's the difference between a members' network and a website anyone can wander into. Other members never see it.
Playing
How do playing tokens work?
You start with one playing token. Spend a token to play as a member's guest; earn one back for every guest you host at your own club. Host one, play one. Host five rounds and every hosted round earns two.
Who pays for the golf?
You pay your own green fee at the pro shop, the guest rate, in full. Money never changes hands between golfers, and Hosted Rounds never touches it. We're an introduction service, not a booking site.
Does the host actually play?
Always. That's the product: a round with the member who signed you in, at the course they know hole by hole.
Can I bring a friend?
A host can bring up to three network guests into one game, agreed in advance. Never turn up with anyone who wasn't. If your friend is a club member, get them on the network.
Trust
Why are profiles anonymous?
Usernames keep the network about golf. Nobody gets pestered for where they're a member, and your contact details are yours to share in conversation, never ours to give away.
What happens if someone doesn't turn up?
Cancel with notice and the token simply returns, no harm done. A silent no-show is removal from the network, permanently, host or guest. People drive a long way for these rounds.
What will my club think?
That you brought a well-mannered guest who paid the full guest rate, followed the dress code, and might one day apply to join. Both Codes are published, and any club secretary is welcome to read them.
