Ganton is the great surprise of English golf: an inland course that plays like a links, cut through heather and gorse a few miles from the Yorkshire coast, and shaped over the years by Vardon, Braid, Colt and MacKenzie.
It is one of only three clubs in Britain to have hosted the Ryder Cup, the Walker Cup and the Curtis Cup. Visitors are welcome midweek from £235. A member's guest sees it for a good deal less, and with someone who can read its bunkers.
THE COURSE
Deep, strategic bunkering and heather-lined fairways give an inland course a true links character; the blind drive at the 16th is famous.

That is the club’s own member’s guest rate, up to 74% below the £235 visitor green fee. A member signs you in and plays the round with you. Hosted Rounds is the members’ network that finds you the member.

How do I play Ganton Golf Club as a guest?+
Ganton Golf Club is a private members' club, so the surest way to play it is as a member's guest. Hosted Rounds is a UK members' network built for exactly that: join, connect with a Ganton member, and they sign you in as their guest, usually at the club's own member's-guest rate rather than the full visitor fee.

Played as a member's guest at Ganton, the rate is about £60 a round, versus the £235 visitor green fee. Your host signs you in and it is paid at the club on the day.
How much does membership at Ganton Golf Club cost?+
Membership subscriptions at Ganton are set annually and, as at most private members' clubs, are generally quoted on enquiry, so ask the club direct about current fees, joining fees and any waiting list. If the aim is to play Ganton rather than join it, you do not need a membership at all: a member can sign you in as their guest for about £60, which is what Hosted Rounds arranges.
Can you play Ganton Golf Club without being a member?+
Yes. Ganton allows visitor play, with some restrictions (saturday play from 1:30pm, sunday from 11am. a whs handicap is required for gb&i visitors). You can also play as a member's guest, signed in by a member at the club's guest rate.
