HEATHLAND COURSE · NORTH YORKSHIRE
Ganton Golf Club
EST. 1891PAR 717,055 YARDS2ND IN GB&I
What you’re in for.
Ganton is the great surprise of English golf: an inland course that plays like a links, cut through heather and gorse a few miles from the Yorkshire coast, and shaped over the years by Vardon, Braid, Colt and MacKenzie.
It is one of only three clubs in Britain to have hosted the Ryder Cup, the Walker Cup and the Curtis Cup. Visitors are welcome midweek from £235. A member's guest sees it for a good deal less, and with someone who can read its bunkers.

One of only three British clubs to host the Ryder Cup (1949), Curtis Cup (2000) and Walker Cup (2003).
Deep, strategic bunkering and heather-lined fairways give an inland course a true links character; the blind drive at the 16th is famous.
