What you’re in for.
Heswall sits on the banks of the Dee, and the views are the first thing everyone mentions: the estuary below, the Welsh hills across the water, and more sky than you know what to do with. The golf earns the setting. A proper championship parkland at 6,882 yards, quick greens, and when the wind comes up off the estuary it plays every one of them. Your host will tell you which putts break towards the Dee. Believe them.
The clubhouse does the things a clubhouse should, with a view over the course and the water that makes the first drink last longer than planned. A proper kitchen, a friendly pro shop for trolleys and buggies, and a warm word for guests who repair their pitch marks.
